Torrington Music and Arts Day

Welcome to Torrington Music & Arts day – organised by the Plough with fundraising for North Devon Hospice. Thanks to local artists & performers, many of whom have given their time free for this day. We hope that you will find something to entertain or amuse.

All day in the Plough – grand cake sale & raffle for North Devon Hospice

Donations of cakes very welcome on the day.

10:00am Day opened at the Plough by Dr Harry Cramp

Celebratory poem by Matt Black - performance poet from Sheffield.

Short performance by members of the Torrington Players.

Matt Black will be delivering poems to local shops, businesses & passers-by from 10:15.

Musical Art Workshop - with Rosie Burns

Produce collage and paper sculpture based on responses to music.
15 places - adults & young people 16+
10 am - 4 pm - The Plough

Banner making with Pippa Jenkins & Sarah Jenkinson

Make a bright banner to blow in your garden.

In this fascinating workshop participants will produce collage and paper sculpture artwork based on their own response to 3 pieces of music - One classic, one blues and one folk. This expressive workshop will explore the link between colour, mood, shapes and rhythm looking at the works of abstract artists such as Kandinsky
